About the Hall
Honoring Canadian Talent
The Canadian Music Hall of Fame was established in 1978 by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) to honor Canadian musicians for their lifetime achievements in music. The induction ceremony is a highlight of the annual Juno Awards, often featuring a performance by the inductee.
A Physical Space
Since 2016, a dedicated hall facility has resided within The National Music Centre in Calgary, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility is devoted to celebrating and recognizing Canadian music creators and artists who have made significant contributions both domestically and internationally.
Founding and Recognition
Founded by CARAS, the Hall of Fame serves as a prestigious recognition of artistic excellence and impact. It aims to preserve and showcase the legacy of Canada's most influential musical figures across diverse genres and eras.
Inductees
As of 2025, CARAS has honored 70 bands or individual musicians. Notably, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings are the only artists inducted twice, first with The Guess Who and later for BachmanโTurner Overdrive and Cummings' solo career, respectively.
